What You Should Know About Watch Repair
October 13th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedWatches have become an important part of your lives, without which we cannot function normally in today’s world. Being on time for work, sending the kids to school on time, meeting deadlines, and never missing an appointment are all time orientated. Therefore, a watch is a necessity in every household. It has happened to most of us that our favorite watch stopped working, just like that. Or, you dropped the watch and the case came open, and the first thing that comes to mind is to rush the watch to a watch repair store where you can get it working again. However, before you do, stop for a minute and consider the following points which may prove useful.
Things to Consider About Your Watch
The brand of your watch is very important, because if it is an expensive brand you should not take it to a regular watch repair store. Only take it to an authorized dealer of the brand. The reason for this action is that most designer brands will carry their own parts, and if you let anyone open the watch rather than an authorized dealer, your guarantee may be revoked and the work may not be done as desired in the end.
If you have a watch that has precious gems incorporated in its
dial or body you must take the watch to a jeweler watch repair store in order to ensure that the gems will not be damages in the process. If your watch is in the guarantee period, do not take it to a general watch repair store but only the store that you brought it from. If it is tampered with by anyone else other than the authorized dealer you will loose the guarantee for it.
Inexpensive watches ($20 or less) are usually built so they cannot be repaired. These watches are mostly for a one-time use, and then you need to throw them and purchase another. Therefore, if you do take it to a watch repair store, don’t indulge in paying a fortune to bring it back to life, but if it costs more than its original price, you might as well get yourself a new watch.
Maintain Your Watch
In order not to need any watch repairs in the future, take a minute and take care of your watch. For example if it is not waterproof, don’t have a shower with it. Try not to drop it, and don’t sleep with your watch. Last but not least, try and take your watch for service every couple of years and if it is an expensive brand, every year.

Advice on Purchasing the Perfect Men’s Watch
August 27th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedOne of the most important pieces of jewelry for a man is his watch. While there are some men who will wear a bracelet, ring and possibly earrings, all will wear some kind of watch. It is of little surprise that the majority of watch collectors happened to be men, and therefore it is not always a simple task to purchase a watch for one.
There are many factors involved when choosing a men’s watch such as his personality, which will tell you the type of watch he
will prefer: classic, sporty, or modern. You can try to find out about his likes and dislikes with regard to watches, starting with the watch he is wearing at present.
His age will play a big part as well, for usually younger men don’t prefer antique watches. Your man friend could be the exception to the rule, and you need to find that out. If he is a collector, you will have a hard task on your hands.
If you want to buy the perfect men’s watch for him, you also need to know what he has in his collection, which therefore requires more intensive research. Last but not least, a deciding factor will be the amount you are willing to spend on the men’s watch, and with this you can go to the next step.
How to Repair Your Mistake
If you purchased a men’s watch and it turns out that your friend already has a similar one, he just doesn’t like it, or just wants a different color dial, you can repair the mistake by purchasing from a store that accepts returns and exchanges. In fact, the right way to do this is to ensure that they do by letting the seller know that there is a possibility you may want to exchange or refund the men’s watch if your friend does not care for it.
Another great way to make up for your lack of experience in buying a men’s watch and still not making a mistake, is to present your friend with a gift card from a men’s watch store. There, he can choose a watch of his choice and really love the gift.
In Conclusion
There are times, in the case of a few men, their watch happens to be their only piece of jewelry. Therefore, there are times when they will happen to be a little more fussy when it comes to getting one, which under the circumstances it is quite understandable. A watch is a very personal possession, as it goes along with us wherever we go.
